Benefits of the Cassia Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a spice that is made from the inner bark of trees scientifically known as Cinnamomum. The most common cinnamon sold in North America is cassia cinnamon. It is a popular spice due to it being high in cinnamaldehyde, which is thought to be responsible for most of cinnamon’s health and metabolism benefits. It is also loaded with powerful antioxidants.

Cinnamon has been used as an ingredient throughout history, dating back as far as the Ancient Egyptians. It used to be considered a rare and valuable spice and was regarded as a gift fit for kings.

Nowadays, people take cassia cinnamon by mouth for diabetes, gas (flatulence), muscle and stomach spasms, preventing nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, infections, the common cold,loss of appetite, chest pain, kidney disorders, high blood pressure, joint pain, menopausal symptoms, and menstrual problems including cramps.
